Cites

General terms and conditions

In case of transport and/or sale outside the European Union of ivory and any other species included in the minutes of the International UN Convention of 1975 regarding the trade in endangered species, an official CITES certificate is required. The purchaser can obtain this certificate at the services of the Belgian Federal Government, be it by him- or herself, or if needed, by intervention of the auctioneer. If the auctioneer is charged with the request, the service charges by the Government will be the purchasers responsibility.

The auctioneer cannot be held responsible for any refuse or ban on sale by the Belgian CITES services.

Free trade of ivory and species as above is admitted within the EU, that is if the items meet all legal requirements.

Import or free circulation in the US is only possible if the items are declared as antiques by a recognized expert.
