Present / not present

You are present or plan to be present

  • You plan to be present:
In this case, you can register as a buyer during the exhibition days. You provide us with your ID card, credit card and contact information and we give you a paddle number.
  • You are present before the auction starts:
In this case, you can register as a buyer during the exhibition days. You provide us with your ID card, credit card and contact information and we give you a paddle number.
  • You arrive after the auction has started:
With your first bid, you will be assigned a paddle number (a numbered card). You will need to provide your ID card, credit card and fill in the Buyer's information form.

Important:

  • For each lot assigned to you, you must clearly indicate your paddle number.

  • A single auction can consist of multiple sessions. Your paddle number in this case always applies to a single auction regardless of the number of sessions.
  • In each one of the previous cases a copy of your credit card is required. This copy serves for internal use only.

You cannot be present during the auction

There are three possibilites to participate in an auction as an absentee buyer:

  • Written bid:

With a written bid, you instruct the Auctioneers to bid for you as a third person, i.e. the Auctioneer looks after your interests as a bidder.

For example, you give orders to bid for a specific lot up to € 1,000; the item is estimated at € 500; the Auctioneer starts at € 400; if no bid is made, he will reduce the set price to € 300; from then on he will raise the bidding. The Auctioneer acts in your interests up to a maximum of € 1,000. If the item is sold for € 1,100, that is your bad luck. If the final bid in the hall is € 650, you acquire the piece for € 700.

During the exhibition, bidding forms are available for the benefit of clients.
These forms can also be downloaded from our website (please see beloww). Please fill out this form with your details, the catalogue number of the lot(s) for which you wish to bid, a brief but thorough description of it and the maximum price you are prepared to pay (your maximum bid is always exclusive of the 25% auction fee!).

You hand in this form during the exhibition or you can send it by e-mail or by fax. You may also leave an written bid online. To do so, you will need to register on our website.

All written bids must reach us no later than 48 hours before the first session of the auction, regardless of the number of sessions.

Your registration is only valid when you also include a copy of your indentity card/passport and credit card.

  • You reserve a telephone line:

You can reserve a telephone line by registering with our bidding form. The form is available during the exhibition days or you can download it from our website. (Please see below).

You may also request a telephone line online.  You need to register online first in order to do this.

With this telephone line you can effectively participate in the bid. You will be telephoned by one of our staff a couple of lots before the lot number you are interested in.

Our representative will ask you to hold the line and when the lot in question is being auctioned, he/she will always inform you of the bids on the floor, on another telephone line or from online bidders. Please, for the sake of clarity, only bid with 'yes'. If the bidding price exceeds your budget, please indicate so clearly7 with a 'no'.

The auction house is by no means responsible for inaccessibility, disconnection of the network or any obstruction whatsoever during the auction.

All requests for reservation of a telephone line should reach us no later than 48 hours before the first session of the auction, regardless of the number of sessions.

Your registration is only valid when you include a copy of your identity card/passport and credit card.

  • Online live bidding:

Online bidders are due to register on the platform(s) of the auction house’s online partners no later than 48 hours before the start of the first auction day. Registration should include: name, address, valid contact information, a copy of the passport/identity card and credit card. First-time international buyers may be obliged to make a deposit via bank transfer to the auctioneer’s bank account. The amount of the deposit depends on the value of the item(s) of interest.

For online bidders, buyer’s premium will be 28% (instead of 25%) or 27 % (instead of 25%) as the auctioneer is due to pay a commission fee to his online partners Invaluable Live! (3%), Epailive (3%), LiveAuctioneers (3%), the-saleroom.com (3%) and 51BidLive (2%).

Important:

  • Actual presence at a session will in all circumstances have priority over written bids, telephone bidding and online bidding.

  • In each case, you will be registered as a buyer and a paddle number will be assigned to you.
  • Your registration is only valid when you also include a copy of your indentity card/passport and credit card.
