Banksy

1974-

Since the 1990s, Banksy has delighted fans with provocative graffiti and street art full of socio-political, darkly humorous, and uniquely juxtaposed imagery. The artist is an interesting contrast himself, cultivating anonymity while creating a strong connection with the public. He’s transformed places across the world, including the Bethlehem Wall, Toronto’s PATH, and NYC neighborhoods, and produced Banksy original prints that also display his eclectic ideas.

Well-known designs range from Monkey Queen and Gangsta Rat to Grannies, depicting two ladies knitting Punks Not Dead and Thug for Life knee rugs. Although his true identity may never be known, it’s clear why Banksy was part of Time‘s 2010 list of 100 Most Influential People, and why the public buy Banksy’s art. Sotheby’s and the Andipa, Taglialatella, Lionel, and Castle Galleries are among the many to promote Banksy’s art for sale. Those who buy Banksy’s art will also enjoy modern screenprints for sale at auction
