Sam Dillemans

Born in 1965, contemporary artist Sam Dillemans is best known for his portraits of women, boxers, and the Old Masters. His work is inspired by Goya, Van Gogh, and Picasso, and is often characterized by striking and dynamic brush strokes. Artist Sam Dillemans attended the Leuven Academy of Art for four years, where he fully committed himself to drawing. He then spent a year at the Tourcoing Academy of Art, from which he graduated.

In 2007, he was the subject of a documentary entitled Sam Dillemans: The Madness in the Detail, which not only discussed his work but also delved into who or what influenced his creations. Sam Dillemans’ paintings and artwork can be viewed at Exhibition Space Sam Dillemans in Antwerp, Belgium. He is also periodically involved in individual and group exhibitions.
