A pair of South-Chinese/ Vietnamese carved Huali-type hardwood door panels, divided by eight low-relief carved panels, inlaid with mother-of-pearl on one side, and low-relief carved on the other side, each depicting a flower garden or an animated scene with a mythical beast such as a dragon or a phoenix in flight, presumably Huanghuali, late 19thC, 211 x 87,5 cm

Provenance:
- private Belgium collection, most of the pieces were acquired in Singapore
- the door panels were part of the interior of the United States embassy in Saigon, Vietnam (by repute)
