An Ottoman white jade-hilted 'Kard' with sheath, decorated with shell motifs, 18th/19thC, L 35 cm

The brown velvet-covered wooden sheath with repoussé silver gilt mounts with scrollwork.

Provenance: The collection is reputedly assembled by the current owner's great-grandfather, a military officer active in the late 19thC.
