Auction Formats

What is a LIVE auction?

A live auction, also known as a hammer auction, follows the traditional auction format.
The auctioneer offers each lot individually on the auction day, typically starting from 10 am.

When a lot of your interest is presented by the auctioneer, you can place a bid. The lot is sold to the highest bidder once no more bids are received.

Live auctions typically maintain a pace of 60-80 lots per hour, with a break from 1 pm to 2 pm.

Example schedule:
Auction starts at 10 am
11 am: ca. Lot 60-80
12 pm: ca. Lot 120-160
1 pm: ca. 180-240

1 – 2 pm: Lunch break

3 pm: ca. 240-320
4 pm: ca. 300-400
5 pm: ca. 360-480
6 pm: ca. 420-560

What is a TIMED auction?

A timed auction runs for a predetermined period. At the closing time, lots start closing independently at one-minute intervals.

Throughout the auction, you can place bids at any time. If a bid is received within 3 minutes of the closing time, the bidding time is extended by 3 minutes to ensure fair competition among all bidders. The bidding time for a lot can be extended multiple times.

Timed auctions offer the convenience of bidding at your own pace while providing ample time to make decisions.

You can modify your placed bids at any time by visiting ‘My Account’ – ‘My Bids.’
Within 2 hours before the first lot of the sale closes, bids can no longer be retracted or reduced.

Example: Auction closing time 10 am

Lot 1 will close at 10.00 am (bids made after 9.55 am will extend bidding until 10.05 am)

Lot 2 will close at 10.01 am (bids made after 9.56 am will extend bidding until 10.06 am)

Lot 3 will close at 10.02 am (bids made after 9.57 am will extend bidding until 10.07 am)
