An Empire style three-piece mantle set, after a model of Antoine-André Ravrioh, H 51 - 67 cm

The fine vert de mer marble piece with ormolu mounts was modelled after Antoine-André Ravrioh (1759-1814), and is here flanked by a pair of matching candelabras. On top of the clock stands Cupid in a spaniel-driven chariot, the wheel formed as the dial, with, the oblong marble base centred to the front with drapery inscribed L'amour'. The chariot of love led by fidelity, is symbolized by 2 spaniels. The inside mechanism marked 'J. Marti & Cie'.

  • Condition: - the right top corner of the marble with a larger chip, smaller chip to the left top edge - original pendulum swing included - ornaments missing on the marble base aside the birds? - furthermore, the set appears in fine condition.
