A 19th-century Chinese ivory resting Budai, W 24,7 cm - 1.053 g (+)

The so-called ‘Laughing Buddha' is modeled lying, resting his head on his cloth bag and wearing long open robes that reveal his belly and prayer beads which he is also holding in his right hand, the figure shows on the whole surface a nice smooth and lustrous patina; on a finely carved wooden base
