A 19thC Viennese enamelled and gilt silver cornucopia supported by a griffin, ca 1860, 750/000

The griffin is holding a shield set with a citrine in its claw, the cornucopia and the base are decorated with mythological scenes. The inside of the horn is 'faux-horn' decorated.


Austria-Hungary hallmark (1866-1922), 750/000 (both on the bottom and top rim)

The horn fixed on the holder, total H 11,5 - L 11,5 cm

  • Condition: In overall good appearance, with the following remarks:
    - professional retouches to the enamel here and there: in our opinion not noticeble with the naked eyes, the retouches appear under strong UV-light

    The griffin with the shield and the griffin's head at the top of the horn are not marked, but were tested on silver purity.
