A Baroque Antwerp cabinet on stand, H 214 - W 130 - D 45 cm

A very imposing Antwerp ormolu-mounted tortoiseshell, ebony, rosewood and ivory cabinet on stand, the moulded rectangular cornice surmounted by a pierced baluster-shaped gallery surround, above a pair of cushion-panelled cupboard doors, surrounded by ten drawers, enclosing a fitted architectural interior with mirrored and checkered open compartment, flanked by ten drawers, in the 17thC manner, H 214 - W 130 - D 45 cm

  • Condition: Could in our opinion well be a 19thC piece.
    In our opinion, in a good to an acceptable condition, with the following remarks:
    - The tortoiseshell on the pilaster flanking the pediment: pieces of the tortoiseshell broken and missing
    - The 3rd drawer on the left side of the cabinet: the tortoiseshell loose, needs to be fixed
    - The other drawers: damage situated to the keyholes
    - The central drawer underneath the central doors: pieces of the tortoiseshell missing, one part restored to the pilaster on the right side
    - Damage to the veneer to both sides of the cabinet
    - The checkered floor: crack to the backside, the floor has been restored (fixation)
    - The drawer underneath the interior: pieces missing to the tortoiseshell
    - The domed top: one of the mouldings lose to the left side
    - The left pilaster of the gallery: missing tortoiseshell
    - the bottom drawer: the key plate missing
    - The back leg to the left side: piece missing to the backside
    - Traces of woodworm
    - One key available

Shipping

The auction house is not in charge of shipment of the purchased goods.

Collection of purchases is only possible if the auctioneer has received full payment, be it in cash, by debit/credit card or via bank transfer.

If the buyer wishes a third party to collect his/her purchase in his/her stead, the buyer needs to fill in the Authorization Form for Collection of Purchase (please see below), sign it and send it back to the auction house via email. Without this Authorization Form, no third party can collect any purchase even if it is already paid for.

Goods must be collected no later than 15 days (applied to Belgian buyers) / 30 days (applied to international buyers) after the last auction day.

After this period, uncollected goods will be put in storage at the cost of the buyer. Regardless of the total amount of lots, a fixed storage fee of € 30 is charged. Besides this fixed fee, a storage fee of € 20 per lot per week will be calculated and charged as well.
