A Brussels Neoclassical silver samovar, maker's mark A. Dufour Bruxelles, 950/000, H 47,5 cm

total weight: 3002 g (excl. wooden handle)

With ebony ball feet and handles.
The burner has an ebonised handle.

The cartouche bears the monogram of Leopold I of Belgium and the dedication 'à mon mari, 16 dec 1840'. In 1840, his Queen Louise Marie gave the samovar as a 50th anniversary present to Leopold I, king of Belgium.

  • Condition: In our opinion in good condition.
The burner and cover: probably not original to the samovar, with no visible hallmarks but tested on silver purity.
The burner's cover is slightly damaged, with a small dent on the rim and some dents on the burner.
    The handle is loose.
A negligible dent to the right side of the body of the samovar.
