A carved hatchment ('Obiit') with the coat of arms of Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I, 19thC, 39 x 39 cm

A carved and polychrome decorated heraldic panel with the coat of arms of the house of Habsburg, referring to Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor between 1508 and 1519, as the Duke of Lower Lotharingia, Brabant and Limburg (approximately the current geography borders of Belgium). He was the reign of Burgundy and the Netherlands from his marriage with Mary of Burgundy until 1506, when his daughter Margarita of Austria took over this task as regent.

This memorial plaque should be placed in Belgian historicism of the 19thC.

Dimensions with frame: 51 x 51 cm

  • Condition: - two cracks caused by the working of the wood, reinforced to the back
    - furthermore, in our opinion, the item appears in good and presentable condition.
