A Chinese blue and white 'Figural' sleeve vase, Transitional period, H 45,5 cm

A Chinese blue and white 'Figural' sleeve vase, decorated with a continuous scene of dignitaries and their servants preparing for a game with arrows in the courtyard, probably the pitch-pot game, Chongzhen/Transitional period, H 45,5 cm

Provenance: private collection

  • Condition: The vase appears in our opinion in excellent condition, besides the baking flaws:
    - a yellowish 'rust' spot to the upper frontal decoration: in our opinion, not restoration or damage but a glaze fault during the manufacturing
    - dark spots here and there, and a prominent burst glaze bubble (darkened) at the top rim, also occurred during the manufacturing
    - some glaze pimples here and there (to the lower body)
    - a glaze fault near the foot rim
    Otherwise, no further remarks.

The item has been UV-checked without any findings.
