A Chinese blue and white Hu vase, paired with bamboo-shaped handles, late Qing, H 51 cm

A Chinese blue and white Hu vase, decorated with interchanging bands, the central band with lotus and peony blossoms amid leafy tendrils, the foot rim with stylised Shou-signs and lotus buds, raised on a ring with key-fret pattern, the shoulder features two bands of crashing waves, below a band with lotus scrolls, the neck with roundels enclosing a pair of butterflies, the neck topped off with a band of upright leaves, paired with bamboo-shaped handles, early 19thC, H 51 cm

  • Condition: The vase appears overall in excellent condition, except for some production flaw:
    - some discolouration to the neck, near both handles: not restoration spots!
    - some rubbing to the upper side of both handles
    Otherwise, no further remarks.
