A Chinese falangcai style Beijing enamelled jar and cover, with a Qianlong mark, H 12,5 cm

A Chinese falangcai style enamelled bronze snuff bottle, enamelled with sprays of peony, passion flower and lotus, wrapped around with a brocade sash tied in a large bow, the shoulder decorated with four cartouches enclosing lotus blooms against a light blue ground, the neck with twelve petal panels containing lingzhi fungus, all set against a yellow ground, presumably Republic period, H 12,5 cm

Similar examples are included in the Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford and the National Palace Museum, Taipei

  • Condition: The jar and lid appear overall in good condition, with the following remarks:
    - the cover with chipped rim: partly reglued, partly missing
    - some usual light scratches and stains here and there
    Otherwise, no further remarks.
