A Chinese hexagonal export porcelain puzzle or trick jug, the panels famille verte enamelled with fierce mythical animals interchanging with ones painted with flower gardens, panels with flower branches continue to the neck, the foot rim and lid decorated with precious objects, Kangxi period, H 23,5 cm

Puzzle jugs provided entertainment across early modern Europe by challenging players to drink from them (normally wine or ale).
