A Flemish Antwerp cabinet-on-stand, 17thC and later, H 135,5 - W 89,5 - D 41 cm

A Flemish Antwerp ebony and ebonised wooden, rosewood, tortoiseshell and bone veneered cabinet-on-stand, with gilt brass mounts, the central door encloses a fitted arcaded interior with mirrors and a bone and rosewood inlaid floor, 17thC and later, H 62,5 - 135,5 - W 80,5 - 89,5 - D 35 - 41 cm (without - with stand)

  • Condition: - the top and sides with severe wear, scratches, damages and restorations all over the veneer
    - some tortoiseshell pieces with restoration (the top left drawer, the left and right lower drawers)
    - the lowest large drawer with damages and restoration to the tortoiseshell and other inlaid decoration
    - all over some pieces of bone banding missing
    - the central door with a crack to the tortoiseshell
    - the locks and hinges renewed
    - the left top corner of the cabinet with a chip
    - the inside mirrors with oxidation
    - the inside silver-painted columns in our opinion not original
    - the stand with wear and traces of woodworm
    - the cabinet was in our opinion subject of a large restoration and is, as a result, only partly 17thC

Shipping

The auction house is not in charge of shipment of the purchased goods.

Collection of purchases is only possible if the auctioneer has received full payment, be it in cash, by debit/credit card or via bank transfer.

If the buyer wishes a third party to collect his/her purchase in his/her stead, the buyer needs to fill in the Authorization Form for Collection of Purchase (please see below), sign it and send it back to the auction house via email. Without this Authorization Form, no third party can collect any purchase even if it is already paid for.

Goods must be collected no later than 15 days (applied to Belgian buyers) / 30 days (applied to international buyers) after the last auction day.

After this period, uncollected goods will be put in storage at the cost of the buyer. Regardless of the total amount of lots, a fixed storage fee of € 30 is charged. Besides this fixed fee, a storage fee of € 20 per lot per week will be calculated and charged as well.
