A Japanese bronze koro (incense burner) with higo zogan decoration, signed Taka Sumi Tsukuru, Meiji period (1868-1912), H 36 cm - W 25 cm

A Japanese bronze koro from the Meiji period (1868-1912), with fine and extensive floral black and gold decoration in the higo zogan (metal inlay) technique.
The bronze censer a tripod with rounded body and shishi heads at the top of the feet, the lid adorned with a finely sculped and incised shishi.
Signed on the bottom of the lid.

  • Condition: Some scuffs to the body, small patches of oxidized bronze (green residue), one of the legs refitted or badly fitting, furthermore, in our opinion, the item is in good condition.
