A Japanese ivory netsuke of a hatching tengu (tengu no tomago) with inlaid eyes, signed Kazumasa, Edo/Meiji period (19thC), W 4 cm - 26g (+)

The tengu with a set beak and gaze as it struggles out of the shell with one leg, arm and wing, the hole to the shell on the bottom already revealing its other wing. With inlaid eyes, black stained engraving and two himotoshi of equal size on the bottom.
