A late Meiji period ivory box and cover sculpted with a basso-relievo scene, L 14,8 - W 9,2 - H 4,2 cm - 223 g (+)

The relief depicts a mother and child, the sides with sunken and stained floral relief.

Provenance: from a private collection in Belgium. This item is included in the commissioned private catalogue, titled 'The Nibajama collection', item no. 227

  • Condition: - in our opinion, and apart from the remarks below, the item is in a fairly good condition
    - the joints of all sides slightly loosened without being excessive or substantial (should only be glued in our opinion)
    - the plaque which creates the lid shrunk slightly compared to the edges. This is not disturbing and seems rather normal.
