A Napoleon III period pendule mystérieuse type table clock, wood, bronze, lacquered metal, H 52,5 cm

The mechanism motions a type of Foucault pendulum, which in its turn keeps the mechanism going; the globus is held by three bronze C & S arabesques and grotesques scrolls, the whole resting on a tripod base; with the matching key.

  • Condition: The clock, apart from the remarks below, in our opinion, is in good condition.
The functioning of the item wasn't checked but, in an assay, to wind the mechanism, one of the winds (right) showed a lot of resistance which in our opinion means that the spiral spring should be relaxed, the other wind showed only a slight resistance which in our opinion means that the spiral spring is in good condition.
As far as we can judge, the base and maybe the globus-part was relacquered.
