A rare and fine Chinese famille rose 'Nine Peaches' bowl, early 19thC, H 13 - ø 30,7 cm

A rare and fine Chinese famille rose 'Nine Peaches' bowl, the interior and exterior finely enamelled with a fruiting and blossoming prunus branch, carrying nine plump peaches, coloured in deep ruby-rose, leaves and blossoms are elegantly filling the scene, the bottom with a single peach instead of a usual mark, early 19thC, H 13 - ø 30,7 cm

  • Condition: The bowl appears in our opinion in excellent condition, except for some remarkable production flaws:

    Top rim
    - a baking flaw (dark spot) to the top rim, covered by the famille rose enamel: in our opinion, rather a baking flaw, than a professional restoration of a chip.
    - a dry spot at the top rim and two other spots with glaze fault: possibly reworked during production. In our opinion, it is rather a production flaw, than a professional restoration of chips.

    Outside wand
    - a baking flaw to the decorated exterior (glaze fault)

    Inside wand
    - a baking flaw appearing like a dent, at the inside top rim
    - an underglaze line related to a dark spot on the upper inside wand
    - some wear to the iron-red bats
