A rare Eddy Merckx team FIAT race bike, made by De Rosa, 1977

This bike was reviewed by Ludwig Wynants and identified as an original Eddy Merckx bike when he rode for the FIAT team in 1977. Ludwig Wynants was a professional cyclist from 1979 until 1988. Nowadays he is recognised to be the identificator of the bikes used by Eddy Merckx Merckx-fiets in Museum van de Wielersport | Koersmuseum Roeselare A written document from his hand is available.


A mail dating from 13 march 2023, a few days before Ugo passed away, stating that this bike with this atypical framenumber comes from their hand.


This bike was handed over by Eddy in the late seventies in his attic in Meise to the current owner, a former professional football player who trained and travelled together with Eddy and the RWDM team. There are photos available of this period and connection named above.
