A series of 14 full-length portraits of German emperors, engravings, 1603, Augsburg, 292 x 424 mm

Fourteen important German emperors are portrayed in full-length, each standing in a richly decorated niche, underneath each portrait is a cartouche presented, in which the name of each emperor is not yet filled in.

Originating from the Catalogue of the Armory of Heroes, written by Jakob Schrenck von Notzing (1539–1612) and published by Daniel Baur (died 1639). The engravings are from the hand of Dominicus Custos (c. 1559-1615).

Dimensions of each folio: 305 x 445 mm

  • Condition: The whole series appear in our opinion in good condition.
