A set of four Philippe Starck's Costes Chairs for Driade, France ‘85, H 80 - W 47 cm

Philippe Starck designed the 'Costes' chair in 1981 to furnish the famous Café Costes in Paris. It is characterized by the use of extremely functional, resistant models made of simple materials. Starck used a tripod shape to avoid making it too bulky, which would have hindered the waiters' movements. These chairs have a wooden, black lacquered, curved shell-like structure. Satin black leather upholstered seats and black painted steel legs finish off these comfortable and stylish chairs.

  • Condition: Some usual wear and traces of use, but the set appears in good vintage condition.
