A very imposing Neoclassical three-piece mantle clock, with Sèvres porcelain

A very imposing Neoclassical ormolu bronze three-piece mantle clock, decorated with 'bleu céleste' ground Sèvres porcelain plaques and vases, the roundels with hand-painted gallant scenes and flying cupids, the central clock with on top an allegory on the harvest and footed on a gilt wooden base, flanked by the flower bouquet-shaped candelabras with crystal drip-trays and goats head-shaped handles, the dial and inside mechanism marked 'Duplon & Salles, Fabricants des bronzes, Rue la Bondy 32, Paris', H 58 - 98 - W 41 - 70 cm

  • Condition: - The functioning of the item wasn't checked but in an assay to wind the mechanism there was a lot of resistance on the pins which in our opinion means that the spiral springs are in no good condition.
    - one Sèvres vase with chips and flaking of the glaze to the right and left of the front roundel
    - the other candelabra with missing candleholders
    - candleholders not original and damaged
    - the drip-trays with chips
    - a wind-up key and pendulum swing included
    - the wooden base with wear
    - furthermore, in our opinion the piece is in an acceptable to good condition
