An 18-inch library globe ‘Philips 18" Merchant Shippers Globe', George Philip and Son Lt, the mahogany stand with the calendar and the zodiac above a plain frieze, on three turned and reeded tapering legs united by three curved supports and a turned base stretcher incorporating a compass under glass, H 115 - ø 65 cm

Based on the geographical situation on the map, we estimate the production in the early 1920s

  • Condition: - The usual wear and scratches
    - Quite some wear to the globe, fading of the map mainly to Scandinavia, Russia and Ukraine due to water stains, overall the globe wear and scratches, some water stains
    - Chips and quite some wear to the rim of the calendar
    - The bronze plaque is missing from the bottom of the globe (situated at the junction)
    - Loosening of one of the curved stretchers
    - the vertical movement of the globe has been blocked, but can most likely be restored
