An exceptional Sèvres soft-porcelain hinged ewer and basin, 1766, H 16,5 - W 26 cm

Decorated with hand-painted flowers and heightened with gilt, the 'Oeil de Perdrix' border is blue and pink. The bottom of the ewer and of the basin have a Sèvres mark of the interlaced double L, the date letter 'N', referring to 1766, and the symbol for the painter Guillaume Noël. The silver hinge of the ewer with an 18thC Parisian hallmark.
