An exceptional Tour de France race bicycle of Armand Perin, 1903

The French cyclist Armand Perin (1886-1916) participated with this bike in the 1903 Tour de France which he didn't finish. He later participated in de Tour of 1908 but unfortunately didn't reach the finish either.

This heavy cast-iron example of an early race bike hasn't yet got shifters and weighs between 15 and 20 kilos.

Art dealer Patrick Van der Vorst bought the bike in the Belgian TV show 'Stukken van Mensen' (Season 2, Episode 5, March 2017).
