A fine Victorian plate with a silver-plated central scene depicting 'Pompéan Lady at her Toilet' and with a gilt-edge decorated with palmettes.

Signed to the right bottom corner 'Morel-Ladeuil, inv. & Fecit, 1876', manufactured by 'Elkington C°', signed to the left.

The verso with the inscription 'Registrirt in den Oesterreichischen Kaiserstaaten, Registrirt im Deutchen Reich, Zahl 10.297, N° 27.Bo. I Bl.114, Deposé en France, design copyrighted in the United States, November 1876, Elkington & C°'.

  • Condition: - a minor spot of missing silver-plating to the head of the kneeled figure
    - a ditto spot of missing gilt to the top Satyr face
    - the verso coated
    - furthermore, the plate appears in excellent condition
