Two Chinese blue and white 'Birds amongst Peonies' covered jars, decorated with a pair of pheasants amongst peony branches and blossoms, the shoulder with blooming peony blossoms against a meander band, 19thC, H 47 cm

  • Condition: One baluster jar appears overall in good condition, except for:
    - the shallow chips to the foot rim
    - a usual dark spot to the decoration

    The other baluster jar appears overall in good condition, except for
    - a short hairline crack to the inside top rim, ~2 cm: not pierced through the decorated exterior.

    Both covers with (a) deep chip(s), one cover with the Fu-lion knob broken and restuck.
