A pair of Chinese miniature ivory table screens on a stand, Qing dynasty, 19th-century or earlier, H 25,2 - 25,4 cm / 290 – 280 g (+)

Both are carved in low relief and stained in various colours; one depicts officials on the balcony of a manor, with at the front harnessed horses before a gate; the other one depicts a boat on a river in a mountainous landscape; both with text on the reverse. Both front reliefs prominently show the moon.
The stands are made from a combination of ebony and ivory, and on top, their pillars are sculpted with Fô lions.
