Demetre Chiparus (1886-1947), 'Friends Forever', a large Art Deco Chryselephantine sculpture, H 65 - W 66 cm

A patinated and cold-painted bronze sculpture on a Diana accompanied by her two loyal dogs, presented on a onyx marble base, the face and hands of Diana in very finely carved ivory.

Signed to the left side of the base.

'Friends Forever' was designed by Chiparus in three different sizes, the present model being the largest.

  • Condition: - several small cracks in the ivory to the neck
    - some oxidation to the bronze (to the feet of the dogs)
    - some small chips to the edges of the onyx base
    - furthermore, the item appears in our opinion in excellent condition.
